Muay Thai also known as Thai boxing, or the art of the eight limbs is a martial art and contact sport of Thai origin.

This is developed using techniques combined with blows to the legs, arms, feet, knees and elbows, in addition to some sweeps and restraints.

The meaning of Muay Thai, if we translate it literally, comes from the words Muay (combat) and Thai (Thai name, which means free person) by what we could call Thai Boxing.

Muay Thai originates from Siam, currently known as Thailand. The ancient capital of this kingdom was located in Sukhotai around the year (1238-1408).
